In 2016 I visited rural Yunnan China with a group from the Linden Centre in Xizhou.  Honestly, it simply amazed me.  The people, the town and surrounding area was so visually arresting that it took me a few days to get over being overwhelmed and getting down to photography.  This area reminded me of rural America in many ways.  The young people are going to the cities for greater opportunities and many of the old traditions are at risk of dying.  I feel priviliged to be introduced to such an noble, interesting place and people.  I hope to get back to rural Yunnan and other places in Asia soon to continue this project.
